Raindew Family Center
It’s already nearly 16 years since Raindew Family Center opened its doors in Manhasset and began to “provide a need in the community”, says John Hults, one of the store managers. “We have most things people need. If we don’t have it, we will get it,” he adds.
According to Hults, Manhasset was a desired location for this business because “we wanted to be part of a family-friendly community. Since coming here, we love watching families grow. We feel like friends.”
Our aim at Raindew is “to try to offer personal service and a friendly atmosphere. We are here if you need us and we will do whatever it takes to keep you coming back,” explains Hults.
A family business that it owned and run by family members plus two partners, Hults says the store has grown in size over the years and carries more of everything to cater to the needs. He attributes the success of the store to the people of Manhasset, just like any business in a small community.
Managers at the Manhasset store are always very supportive of local events and help in whatever way they can. Some examples of their generosity and support include donating candy canes to the Manhasset Annual Children’s Holiday Show, allowing Girl Scout Troops to sell cookies every year, collecting sign-up responses for Bike Safety Day and, without being asked, even donating items from the store when Girl Scouts collected items for needy children.
Raindew Family Center is at 465 Plandome Road and is open Mon.-Fri. 9 am–8 pm and Sat.-Sun. from 9 am–6 pm. Tel. (516) 869-6034 and e-mail is Raindew@aol.com
